Is it safe to eat salted sweets that have gone past their use-by date?

The best-before date is a guideline indicating the period during which the product is likely to retain its best flavour when stored unopened. Although the product will not necessarily become inedible immediately after the best-before date has passed, its quality may have deteriorated depending on storage conditions.
If the product has been opened, please check carefully for any signs of mould, unusual odours or discolouration, and do not consume it if any abnormalities are found. For safety reasons, we recommend consuming the product within the best-before date wherever possible.
